VFW and American Legion Presentation
Jan. 08, 2018
Kathryn Chandler, wife of actor Kyle Chandler, knew in the summer of 2016 that she wanted to help launch yet another effort to benefit the Dripping Springs community--a new VFW Post for our area veterans. Kathryn turned to Mary Jane Hetrick, a nonprofit consultant and community volunteer, and they have partnered in the endeavor ever since. John & Amy Doucet of Doucet & Associates, longtime supporters of veterans, joined shortly thereafter, along with key members of the VFW Post 2933 and other community members. The VFW and American Legion in DS have historically utilized the same buildings and members of the American Legion have been consulted every step of the way. As Kathryn and Mary Jane talked to stakeholders, the vision evolved into an all-encompassing Veterans Hall, such that no matter where, when, or for how long veterans have served, they and their families will be welcome. While the marketing/fundraising phase must wait for a key juncture, Kathryn and Mary Jane look forward to sharing the vision and answering your questions. |
