RYLA STUDENTS REPORT ON EXPERIENCE

Dripping Springs High School students Anna Wyszkowski and Saidee Hernandez were chosen from a field of 15 applicants to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy by the Rotary Club of Dripping Springs.  The young leaders shared their experience at RYLA with the club.

Saidee Hernandez is a power lifter and runs track and field at DSHS.  She was surprised by some troubled students and their willingness to share their story and left her with the important message of "reach out to everyone".  The academy helped her gain self-confidence.  Her favorite activity was the balloon game where you had to hug someone to pop the balloon.

Anna Wyszkowski is a member of Interact, Young women in leadership and Spanish Honor Society, not to mention she is part of Ballet Austin six days per week.  She was pleased that the academy leaders push you to work as a team and as a leader.  She learned communication skills.  Her favorite activity was to build a mural without talking to her teammates.
